You Should Be Disinfecting These Items Daily

We’d like to think of our homes as our safe haven, our sanctuary. A fortress from which we can keep our families safe and at ease.

Things have changed, with tiny invaders all around us in the world, our home’s barrier is getting infiltrated, with us playing trojan horse.

While we fly our families home, stock up on staples, and self-quarantine, it’s essential we clean and sanitize surfaces in our houses. By keeping our homes and ourselves sanitized, we help reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19 and do our part in keeping our families healthy.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends we clean and disinfect frequently touched household surfaces daily, especially if anyone leaves and/or enters your home.

First comes first, you’ll want to clean surfaces first. The key is to wash away any dirt and grime using detergent or soap with water.

Next comes the disinfecting and there are a few places that we should be keeping in mind.

Our list of high-touch surfaces to clean and disinfect daily:

  • Doorknobs, especially your front-door

  • Lightswitches

  • Thermostats

  • Doorbell

  • Table surfaces

  • Hard dining room chairs

  • Kitchen countertops

  • Kitchen surfaces such as appliance handles and cupboard knobs.

  • Bathroom countertops and surfaces

  • Toilet seat and handles

  • Shower and sink faucets

  • Remote controls and other electronics such as computer mouses and video game controllers

  • Laptops, especially ones that have left homes recently

  • Pet beds
